Summary

The goal of the Tissue Engineering Unit is to provide CRG, PRBB and external researchers with the latest technologies used in the fields of stem cell biology, stem cell differentiation, organoid formation and induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). It also constantly setting up new and emerging technologies in these fields.

The Unit works in collaboration with the Biomolecular Screening & Protein Technologies Unit at the CRG to provide CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing technology service.

Projects and Services

By way of summary, in the course of 2017, the Unit provided services in several CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing, stem cell biology and embryo micromanipulation for research projects.

During 2017, the Unit set up and delivered different 2D and 3D organoids differentiated stem cell culture services for pulmonary and retina CRG projects.

The Unit organised the hands-on Courses@CRG “From Stem Cells to Organoids” and participated as specialist in the Courses@CRG organised by the BMSPT facility, teaching CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing in stem cell lines.
